A platform built for process combinations
HTWK Leipzig reported that the Brinter research platform can combine four different materials and four printing processes simultaneously in each layer. The system is used for research rather than large-scale production, giving researchers a flexible environment for testing new functional material and process combinations.
Independent process functions around the material
- Four materials and four processes can be combined within one layer.
- Independent cooling and heating for application-specific material handling.
- Mixing as part of the printing workflow.
- UV crosslinking integrated into the research platform.
- A modular architecture for functional and multi-material additive manufacturing research.
External proof of platform flexibility
The installation provides a useful external proof point for BrinterAM's core platform philosophy: advanced additive manufacturing often requires more than a single extrusion method. Materials, thermal conditions, mixing, curing and deposition processes need to be combined around the application while remaining controllable within one manufacturing environment.
