Brinter AM: Pioneering Sustainable Innovation in the VITAL Project

At Brinter AM, we are proud to play an integral role in the VITAL project—a groundbreaking European initiative aimed at revolutionizing foamed thermoplastic processing. By contributing our advanced additive manufacturing expertise, we are helping to drive the transition toward a sustainable, circular economy based on bio-based thermoplastics.

About the VITAL Project

VITAL is set to overcome critical limitations in foamed thermoplastic processing by developing innovative, high-efficiency, low-cost solutions. The project focuses on three key processing value chains:

  • 3D Printing Process Based on Granulated Feedstocks: Enabling a flexible and sustainable approach to material processing.
  • Bead Foaming Process: Optimizing material use for enhanced performance.
  • Foam Injection Moulding (FIM) Process: Integrating advanced digital control techniques such as Digital Twin simulations and AI-driven optimization.

By generating fundamental knowledge and practical solutions, VITAL aims to create commercially viable “Sustainable by Design” approaches that will benefit the entire polymer processing sector, supporting a paradigm shift toward cleaner, climate-neutral industrial value chains.

Brinter AM’s Contribution

Advanced 3D Printing for Sustainable Processing

Brinter AM’s expertise in advanced additive manufacturing is perfectly aligned with VITAL’s vision. Our modular 3D printing systems—engineered for processing a wide range of materials including granulated thermoplastics—serve as a critical component in the project’s 3D printing value chain. Our technology supports:

  • High Efficiency & Low-Cost Production: Leveraging space-grade innovations to deliver reliable and scalable manufacturing.
  • Digital Optimization: Utilizing Digital Twin models and AI-driven process control to ensure precision, reproducibility, and quality in every print.

Driving a Circular Economy

Our contributions extend beyond technology development. By integrating our state-of-the-art 3D printing processes into the VITAL framework, we are:
